Copyright and takedown requests

MacGameTorrent consists of catalog pages and notes about Mac games and software. If you own the copyright in a work and believe that a page on this site infringes it, please send a notice to [email protected].

What should the notice contain?

Think of it as six parts. First, the link to every page involved. Second, which of your works it concerns. Third, who you are and how I can reply to you. Fourth, your good-faith belief that the owner, an agent or the law has not permitted this use. Fifth, your confirmation that the notice is accurate and that the rights are yours or you represent the person who holds them. Sixth, a signature; a typed name works as an electronic one.

What happens after I send it?

If the notice is complete, the material it identifies is removed or disabled, and I write back to confirm. If something is missing, most often the page address, I will ask you for it. I cannot act on requests that do not point to specific pages.

What if something was removed by mistake?

You can send a counter-notice to the same address. Please identify the material and where it appeared, explain why you believe the removal was a mistake, and include your name, contact details and signature. I forward counter-notices to the person who sent the original notice.

What about repeated notices?

Each one is handled in the same careful way, whether it is the first notice about a page or the third.
