Privacy notice

Many readers of this site are parents, so I want this page to be easy to understand. MacGameTorrent keeps as little information as possible, and you decide whether it keeps any at all.

Browsing

You can read the whole site without an account. While you do, the site sets no cookies of its own. The server keeps ordinary logs, as nearly every website does: the IP address, the type of browser and which pages were requested. These logs help keep the site safe and help me find out what went wrong when there is a problem.

Accounts

If you register, the site keeps your display name, your email address, your password in hashed form (the password itself is never stored), your favorites, your comments and your notifications.

Cookies

When you sign in, the site sets a session cookie so you stay signed in while you move around, and a small sign-in marker so it recognizes you when you come back. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Comments

I moderate every comment before it appears. When I do, I can see the comment, the display name, the email address of the account and the page where it was written. Other visitors only see the comment and the display name.

Notifications

When a game in your favorites is updated, a notice appears on the site. I do not send marketing emails or newsletters.

What I never do

I never sell your information or share it with advertisers, and there are no advertising trackers on the site.

Deleting your account

Write to [email protected] from the email address of your account, and I will delete the account, your comments or both, as you prefer.

Children

Although many games here are suitable for younger players, accounts are meant for adults. If a child would like to take part in the comments, a parent should create the account and decide together with them what to write.

Changes

If this notice changes, the new version will be published on this page.
